Back Order

If a Reorder you place is currently unavailable, you may place the item on Back Order and request that it be reordered for you from the vendor. Since such Back Orders are subject to the availability of a vendor’s stock, and each vendor has its own internal process for filling orders, Diamond will not be able to provide immediate Confirmation on the availability of such items. Your Back Order will appear on your next Order Status Report. If a Back Ordered item does not ship to you within 30 days of when the Back Order was placed (or longer, depending upon the product category the item falls into; see Back Order Period), your order will be automatically canceled by Diamond and noted as such on your weekly Order Status Report. You then have the option of placing the Back Order again, should you so desire.

In addition, Back Orders for product from vendors for whom Diamond acts as an Exclusive Sales Agent are subject to the conditions stated in the terms of sale for each vendor.

Back Order Period

The period during which Diamond keeps your Back Order for a product active before automatically canceling it. Back Order Periods vary according to the product’s Category Code (see accompanying table) in order to account for the manufacturing and shipping requirements for each product. This gives vendors more time to ship their products, which gives you a better chance of receiving them.

Additionally, Back Orders for products from many international vendors are also kept active for 90 days, due to the unpredictable nature of transcontinental shipping.

Please Note: This table is also used to compute the length of time your Advance Reorder for a product is kept active. For example, if you place an Advance Reorder for a toy or model that ships on August 1, the vendor has 90 days beyond that ship date to fulfill your Advance Reorder for that product.

Backlist Ship Dates

Diamond ships Offered Again Comics product and Non-Comics products that are solicited bimonthly in the PREVIEWS catalog under separate ship dates. Ship dates for Comics product apply to all backlist product solicited by Premier Vendors and publishers in the Comics section of PREVIEWS. All backlist product is set to ship on the second Wednesday of the solicited ship month.  Due to high volume, this will often be split into two shipments, with odd-numbered item codes shipping on the second Wednesday and even-numbered item codes shipping on the third Wednesday.

Badge

A graphic designation found on store profiles of retailers who participate in the Comic Shop Locator Service. A Badge signifies that the retailer is affiliated with a particular promotion or program sponsored by Diamond – such as kidscomics.com or Free Comic Book Day – or has a presence on social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook, or on websites such as YouTube.

BookShelf

The BookShelf is Diamond’s resource website and newsletter for educators and librarians, which features news, reviews, and a wealth of information on the benefits of incorporating comics & graphic novels into schools and libraries. In addition to the website, BookShelf is also published as a print magazine three times annually.

BOOM! Studios FOC List

A mass Vendor Email, scheduled for sending on Thursdays or Fridays by Diamond to retailers from BOOM! Studios, listing titles that are on Final Order Cut-off (FOC) the following Monday. Each week’s edition is accompanied by a text file containing a customized attachment reflecting Image titles that reflects quantities you have already ordered of the listed titles, when applicable, which helps guide you in adjusting your order before the cut-off. You can elect to receive or decline this mailing by visiting the Preferences page of the My Account section on Diamond’s Retailer Services Website.
